Freestanding Crane Runway

Practical Engineering Australia was recently engaged by Crane Maintain to complete the detailed design of a freestanding crane runway to Australian Standards, suited for a 5t single girder overhead type crane.

The runway design process thoughtfully incorporated existing stock supplies and provided maximum forklift access for our client, minimising project costs. Components were fabricated locally by Top Cut Fabrication, while Crane Maintain completed the final installation, shown below part-way through install.

Boasting a long travel length in excess of 36 m, the freestanding runway enables maximum utilisation of the 5t crane hardware throughout the expansive facility.
