Wagners transport cement via road tankers, commonly known as ISO Containers, across Australia. The cement tankers are pressurised during filling and emptying operations.
Due to nature of Wagners operation and cost savings in international fabrication; Wagners procured the ISO Containers direct from a Chinese supplier. The tanks were classified under AS 1210 as a pressure vessel and also came under the jurisdiction of ISO standards for freight containers. Our design team used the manufacturers drawing set to verify the design to relevant AS & ISO pressure and transport standards. The verification exercise also involved sending a representative engineer to witness pressure and ISO Container type testing container tanks.
Our engineer produced a standard testing procedure for the fabricator in line with NDT, hydro and type requirements detailed in the relevant AS and ISO standards. Once the design drawings were approved and testing procedures met the code requirements, Practical Engineering issued RPEQ engineering certification of the design. Practical Engineering Australia also issued a Worksafe QLD Design Verifier Statement.
