Practical Engineering was contracted by Queensland Urban Utilities (QUU) to upgrade the Bundamba Sewerage Treatment Plant’s screw conveyor system.
The aim of the project was to alleviate the efficiency issues on the QUU sludge handling facility. With Practical Engineering’s expertise and extensive experience, we were able to provide a solution that met both the client’s performance and functional goals.
The plant upgrade involved decommissioning and dismantling of redundant screw conveyor systems and design, specification and installation of new inclined conveyor shaftless screws and liners.
Our system redesign proved a success; with improved sludge flow rates and a decrease in the frequency and probability of failure.
Using strategic planning and thoughtful leadership, Practical Engineering was able to deliver the project both on time and within budget.
